National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination at different centres located across the country on 08.01.2023 (Sunday).

The candidates are required to check/download the same using their Application No. and Date of Birth from the website https://aissee.nta.nic.in

AISSEE 2023 will be conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA). A candidate is allowed to apply for admission to only one Sainik School.

All India Sainik School Admission Form has been released. Sainik Schools Society, New Delhi invites application from aspirants who are seeking Admission in Sainik Schools for academic year 2023-24. 

Sainik Schools Society (SSS) is an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Defence, Govt of India. The Society runs Sainik Schools. Sainik Schools are English medium residential schools affiliated to CBSE. Sainik Schools prepare Cadets to join the National Defence Academy (NDA), Khadakwasla (Pune), Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala and other Training Academies for officers. At present there are a total of 33 Sainik Schools across the country.

Sainik Schools Society (SSS) offers admission to Class VI and Class IX for the academic year 2023-24, Admission is based on the performance of candidates in the All India Sainik Schools Entrance Examination (AISSEE). The final selection is based on school-wise, class-wise, category-wise rank in merit list of the Entrance examination, medical fitness approved by competent Medical authorities and verification of original documents.

The responsibility of NTA is limited to inviting online applications for AISSEE 2023, conduct of the AISSEE 2023, processing and declaration of result and providing the merit list to the SSS.

Important Dates

  Eligibility Criteria for All India Sainik School AISSEE 2023 

Age Limit

1. Age Limit criteria for admission in Sainik School as on 31st March 2023
2. Class 6 - 10 to 12 years
3. Class 9 - 13 to 15 years
4. The Entrance Examination will be held for admission to class VI & IX. Boys who are between the age of 10 to 12 years and 13 to 15 years respectively on 31st March of the year in which admission is sought are eligible to take the Entrance Exam. For admission to Class IX, the boys should be studying in Class VIII in a recognized school. Admission will be made strictly in order of merit only in classes VI and IX.
5. Only boys’ candidates are eligible to take admission in Sainik School all over India.
6. Admission for Girls is open for Class VI. Age criteria is same as boys.
7. Admission to Class IX is not open for girls. 

For admission to Class VI: he/she should have been born between 01 April 2011 and 31 March 2013 (both days inclusive) for admission to the academic year 2023-24.

For admission to Class IX: He/ she should have been born between 01 April 2008 and 31 March 2010 (both days inclusive) for admission to the academic year 2023-24.

PASSING MARKS FOR AISSEE ADMISSION:

A candidate is eligible for admission to the Sainik Schools, if he/ she secures a minimum of 25% marks in each subject of the exam and 40% marks in aggregate of all the subjects of AISSEE 2023.  However, admission will be based on relative merit (in AISSEE) of candidate in his/ her category in the school opted by him/ her, medical fitness and verification of requisite documents.

However, no minimum marks are prescribed for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe category. They will be admitted on the basis of inter-se merit at the Entrance Examination within their respective categories, subject to medical fitness and verification of requisite documents.

AISSEE Exam Test

1. The AISSEE written Entrance Examination will be held on 8th January 2023.
2. Due to the change in format total number of questions in class VI as well as IX may change. 
3. For admission to Class VI: From 02.00 pm to 04.30 pm
4. For admission to Class IX: From 02.00 pm to 5.00 pm 

Mode of AISSEE Examination: Paper pencil on OMR answer sheets for admission to both Class VI  and Class IX. 

 AISSEE Medium/Language 

1. Class 6 - English/ Hindi/ Local Language of the State
2. Class 9 - English Language Only 

 AISSEE Application Fees 

1. Candidates who belongs to General and Defence Category: Rs.650/-
2. For SC/ST Category Candidates - Rs.500/-
3. Mode of AISSEE Fee Payment - Credit/Debit Card/Net-Banking/Paytm   

 Reservation :

1. 25% of the seats are reserved for the wards of defence personnel and ex-servicemen.
2. 15% of the total seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes, 7½% seats for Scheduled Tribes & 27% for the category Other Backward Classes belonging to the Non Creamy layer (OBC-NCL) as per the central list.
3. Out of the remaining, 67% of the seats will be reserved for boys from the State in which the Sainik School is located. Balance 33% left over of seats will be thrown open to boys from other States and Union Territories in the ratio of their male population
4. Any unutilized seats in this category will be merged with home State seats (In this connection, please refer to this office letter No. 4(1)/SSS/2016) dated 5th July 2017) in order of merit.
5. 25% seats are reserved for children of service personnel including Ex-servicemen 

HOW TO APPLY FOR AISSEE 2023: 

A candidate can apply for AISSEE 2023, online only at https://aissee.nta.nic.in

The Application Form other than online mode will not be accepted. Only one application is to be submitted by a candidate.

Candidates must follow the instructions strictly as given in the Information Bulletin and on NTA website https://aissee.nta.nic.in. Candidates not complying with the instructions shall be summarily disqualified.

AISSEE ADMIT CARD: Admit card will be hosted on the NTA website https://aissee.nta.nic.in 15 days prior to the date of the exam
